Baccarat.

Baccarat is one of the places I play in Bangkok about once a month. It is not a weekly residency like some of the others, and I like it that way. Because the nights are spaced out, each one feels like an event, and I always arrive with fresh ideas and a lot of energy.

The club is at 88 Sukhumvit 24 Alley, in the Khlong Toei area of Bangkok. It is easy to reach from the center, and the neighborhood has plenty of life around it. When you walk in, you can feel that this is a place made for going out and letting go.

What I enjoy most is the variety of roles. Some nights I play as the headliner and take the room through the peak of the night. Other nights I play as the warm up and prepare the floor for someone else. I love both. As a headliner I can take my time, build a long story and push the energy where I want. As a warm up I have to be patient, set the tone and make sure that when the next DJ takes over, the room is ready and already moving. Doing both keeps me sharp and humble.

The crowd is young, and it is a real mix of Thai and international people. You see locals who go out every weekend, expats who have lived in the city for years and visitors who are only in town for a few days. They all share the same appetite for a great night. The parties are crazy, in the best way. People dance hard, sing along, jump, laugh and make the room feel alive. That kind of energy is contagious, and it pushes me to give everything from the first track to the last.

Playing for a young audience also keeps me curious. I bring my Deep and Afro House roots, but I like to read the room and adapt. Sometimes the night asks for a deeper groove, sometimes for bigger drums, sometimes for something with more punch. I keep the quality of the music high while making sure the floor never loses its fire. It is a nice challenge after more than thirty years behind the decks, and it reminds me why I started in the first place.

There is another reason I like Baccarat. It is a place where people let go and forget about everything else for a few hours. As a DJ, that is the best thing you can offer. You become part of someone's best night of the month, and you get to share it with them.

Bangkok has an enormous nightlife scene, and every club has its own character. Baccarat has an energy that is hard to describe but easy to feel. After each night I leave with the same thought: it is always a pleasure to play here.
